The most powerful reagent to detect murine prion protein!

The most powerful reagent to detect murine prion protein!

INRA has developed an hybridoma secreting the monoclonal antibody (Mab) named 2D6 (IgG2a isotype) specially suited for identification of denatured prion protein. Mab 2D6 is specially suited for identification of denatured prion protein, either in its recombinant, cellular, pathological or proteinase treated form by Western Blot techniques. It has been reported to work efficiently in Immunohistochemistry provided that the protein should be denatured during the treatment of the sample (making the buried epitope accessible. Mab 2D6 recognizes only prion protein of mouse and sheep.

POTENTIAL INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION

According to the European network which has been in charge of comparing diagnostic reagents for Western Blot, Mab 2D6 is the most powerful reagent to detect murine prion protein.
